My
mother grew up in England in
a rural, small township named Evesham. She has told
me many stories of her childhood. One I
have always loved is that of the gypsies traveling by
her home.
Her mother was very mistrustful and always told her
children to
stay away from strangers. My mother was fascinated by
the traveling gypsies, their wonderful clothes, jewelry,
their horse
pulled homes and the music they would play at night
around the campfire. She could not stay
away: every chance she had
she would hide in the woods and watch the gypsy families.
This set
is bold with the colors or
amethyst, jasper and carnelian. Swarovski crystals,
antique brass filigree beads, glass beads spun and woven
into peyote stitched beads and copper findings compliment
the pendant of soft metallic copper, green, black, purple,
blue and gold texture
and design.
